My Story
I discovered Pilates in 2010 and knew right away that it was a discipline I would be practicing for the rest of my life. After four years of dedicated practice as a student of the method, I left a 13-year career in corporate communications and completed my comprehensive Pilates education and teacher training from ITT Pilates, a top certification program offered by A Body of Work in San Francisco.
I have personal experience as a collegiate athlete, as a distance runner, as a mom of young children and as someone who worked long hours in the corporate world, and I heavily draw on these experiences to design Pilates programs for clients’ different lifestyles. With an emphasis on injury prevention in my teaching, I enthusiastically work with each client to achieve their specific goals.
I’ve been a nationally certified Pilates (NPCP) / movement teacher since 2014. Continuing my integrative movement education is so important to my practice, so I can continuously share new ideas, information, and techniques with clients. My practice is inspired by my mentor and friend Madeline Black and The Madeline Black Method, and also incorporates sensory and brain-based movement techniques by The Neuro Studio. I also spent two years learning from my mentor and friend Odile Zelenak, a renowned expert in the healing arts and owner of Odile Movement & Bodywork in San Diego.
I graduated from UCLA in 2000 with a B.A. in Sociology, where I was a member of the Women’s Soccer Team for four years.
